Chef Antonio Race, was born
in small town on the coast North of Naples, called Miliscola.
Father Giuseppe Race has
been a fisherman, from a long line of fishermen, and farmer all of his
life. His mother Assunta has been a 'traditional' housewife. Assunta
has been blessed with a great gift for culinary arts. Giuseppe and
Assunta have five beautiful children (not so young today): Salvatore, Vincenzo,
Antonio, Filippo and Mara. Though they all possess a fondness for cuisine,
Antonio is the only one to pursue this love and make it his livelihood.
Antonio learned from an early
age about the joys of culinary expression. His ancestors have been suppliers
of fresh sea foods for generations. As well, the family has grown
their own produce, made their own wines, breads and gourmet cuisine for
centuries.
